Welcome to our new blog
We decided it was time to start a blog to discuss some of the issues surrounding atheism, religions, and our church.
I would love to start a dialog between atheists and theists alike. We don’t dislike people because they have religion, in fact we are very happy that they are free to worship and promote their faith. I do wish some of them would give us more of the same respect, but what can you do. I have many religious friends, and I value their kindness and compassion. But not because some “god” gave it to them, then it would be false. Because it’s really them in their own minds choosing to be a good person, even if they don’t think so.
One interesting topic is separation of church and state. As an atheist it seems biased in my favor. However in reality, separation of church and state doesn’t mean there is no god, just that in governments and schools are not the place to debate it. Every child deserves to learn the most up to date knowledge that we have. It does matter if god or a spaghetti monster or nothing makes gravity work, or animals evolve. I don’t believe I have the right to go to a school and convince kids there is no god, and I would like the same respect from theists.
That reminds me of a question I have for theists. Why go with the “evolution never happened” route? Why not just say “god caused evolution?” It’s a much easier package to sell, millions less loose ends. Don’t want to change your minds after thousands of years? But what about the whole flat earth thing? How did you guys reconcile the change over to a round earth? I would love to have been at that sermon! Anyway, I for one wish evolution did explain away god, but I’m not that lucky. So calm down, and maybe rethink your strategy.
Well I would love for everyone to send me ideas, questions, suggestions, and topics you would like discussed here. And if you happen by a particularly good article on the web, feel free to send me a link.

I think teenagers shouldn’t be allowed here. They don’t have a clue about life, why are they trying to look smart?
