Help me understand

Rev. Paul McMaster

Submitted By: (Mike Walker) mikemcmack (at) yahoo (dot) com

If a human father let his son die on a cross and he had the power to stop it. The world would think very badly of him. A god can let his son suffer and die on a cross and you praise him. A book can tell stories that god has killed more people than all the massmurders in history and you still praise him. He can drown, set on fire, deform, mutilate children and you can still praise him.
Believing in god seems so childish. On the play ground a child might say if you play with me I will give you a candy bar. God says if you believe in me I will give you something. People only believe in god because they want to be healed or go to heaven or whatever they think god might do for them. They pray to him to ask for things.
It’s hard to believe in a god that gives you something just because you believe in him. I don’t need a god to do anything for me. Maybe that’s why I don’t believe.
By the way Doctor’s are the first people that will go to hell. It’s because god heals people and doctor’s get paid for it.
Could ya please get god to heal a little faster. The world is haveing trouble affording medical insurance.
So many people have said to me. Why don’t you believe in god just in case? Don’t you think if a god is so smart and powerful to build a world he would catch on to my just in case scheme.
Why didn’t god have some commandments to protect children like thou shall not molest kids? Maybe thou shall not hurt kids. He was probably tired that day and didn’t think about kids. Maybe his tablet was not big enough for more commandments.
The christian community needs one thing very much and that is to have all the answers to questions. They need to get their act together and get the same answers to all questions. How can you get someone to believe you if you don’t have the answers or different answers to quetions? You will never be able to have the answers. Get used to the non believers being around because of that.
If god is so loveing and careing he sure is mad much of the time in the bible.
A survey completed by a college estimates that at current groth of non believers. In 40 years there will be more non believers than believers. I think the christian community is handling religion so poorly that this even will happen sooner.
My most important question is why do christians dislike us for not believing in god? Why is it such a big deal.
You tell me there is a god and my only option is to believe you. It seems I am not allowed to not believe. I wish you believed in this great country being free. I spent 20 years in the military for what I thought was protecting our right to freedom. Ya I was one of those atheist people in the military. I seen that article on no atheist in fox holes. In the military as a supervisor I learned that if you wanted your troops to do something. You had to lead by example. If your troops were to have sharp uniforms, your uniform better be sharp too. If they were to be on time and hard working you as a leader better be on time and hard working. It’s a shame god didn’t join the military and learn this valuable lesson. He don’t seem to lead by example.
When I got my dog tags the individual printing them didn’t have a label for someone who didn’t believe in god so they labled me as a prodistant. I didn’t know what a prodistant was.
Years ago in Philadelphia, people had to attend church in order to vote. They got rid of laws like that because of people rights to be free. I know one thing for sure. Christians are not going to give us our rights easily. We have to protect them very carefully. People have the right to be religious and we have the right not to be.
Protect your rights very carefully. They can be taken away so easily. Please be curtious while protecting those rights.

Its ironic that you keep being quite un-aetheist by telling somebody what they are supposed to think so you can attack it and win the arguement. Also, you talk about rights, but make no mention of why I or anyone else should give a rats ass about your “rights” The constitution is just paper and ink, it doesn’t know or care about “rights” so where do you assume you have rights from. And why do you have rights to speak and do what you want, but Christians should not have the right to speak and do what they want. Explain how you claim the right to have rights. Someone died? So therefore you have rights? NO NO NO and NO.

The basis for a human to have rights is that we are capable of knowing in advance what will kill and hurt us and those around us. We know in advance what will cause emotional pain and joy. This awareness of what is about to happen, now in the modern era so advanced we can predict the movement of stars and why they move like they do, actually, in the bible. God wanted us to remain sublime, but Satan told us to eat the apple where then we became knowlegeable like God, but without the single power that seperates us from God, the ability to create in a universe of destruction because the thought of defeat or failure does not ever enter into the power of creation. God ultimate creative knowledge to cook up the universe, yet is sublime to the shallow emotions of lust, hunger, jealousy, etc… because to experiece those emotions while contolling vast power is the definition of a demon, a person who thinks they are smart enough to be God, but let their emotions warp the power they have gained from intelligence into machines of war and destruction, or even luxury and comfort, so as to kill an unborn child rather than not fit in the bathing suit.

As we are knowledgeale of what give pain and pleasure, we have the freewill to choose which way we try to influence others. God doesn’t “let” anything happen. One man’s freewill to choose his actions are what “lets” a child be molested.

God did not “send” his son to die you dip. Perhaps you should get your story straight, because the bible you quote to make your “case” you ommitt that the story continues, that Jesus rose, and with quite a scientific approach to staying clean and sterile as if about to go into space flight, he after rising, is seen by his apostles and others for 3 days.

Science will not disprove God. Science will prove the existence of the nature of the being of God. Think about it. To be a space travelor, Nasa requires exhaustive psychological testing and sorting and yes, denying access to those deemed unfit, to travel in space. The body must be virtually germ and disease free. While in space, a deep committment to the tasks is commanded, rather than just sitting around jacking off to porn (though in 0gs) The lazy and the surrendered to mediocrity despise those who will attain godliness and walk in space. Eventually, cities will be born in space, with the fist small few huts delicately held together, but in 1000-5000 years, yes, we will still be here, turn off cnn, these cities will be huge and orbit like the moon or other planets, with, just like now, their existence serves the human intellect to learn, create, and explore, only to the limit of the universe. Again, the bible is right, we are like Gods in that we can learn, explore, and so on, but unlike God, we have poor sport feelings, jealousy, need I repeat myself. To live in those fragile space environments, you can’t strap on a bomb because you don’t like your co-dweller. You must routinely forgive others as they must routinely forgive you (Jesus said that) to be a citizen there coming from earth, you must be scrutinized, and that is what those who will never pass hate the most. Not that they can’t pass, but that they don’t feel like they should have to bother with being tested at all, they should be able to go when they want, and disease everyone, and poorly do thier part in the science giving false results that they then try to hide, and then must lie when discovered and then maybe even kill the discoverer, oh, well, now we see WHY we scrutinize and only pick the best… sorry if some feel their rights are violated, but one thing is for sure, their right to bitch about it is well shown, and if that right exists, the others are fine.

You and those like you are the biggest enemy to legitimate aetheism. I consider myself to not believe that a man with a beard is floating just behing the couds, and as such I am not going to bother in the first place to acknowledge as such by taling about it using the name over and over off the being alot of churches (not just Christian) call God, or supreme father, or whatever the translation for their culture to the dominant force they credit with creation. God is a word to describe in western culture the being the built the universe.

To say you don’t believe in god is rather silly. We are here because of forces of creation in the universe. I am aeteist because I refuse to call these forces God as such to elude they are controlled by mysticism. My definition of God is simple, Physics. Physics shapes the universe. Physics builds stars. Physics holds atoms together to give me neurons, to give me a brain to comprehend right and wrong. I, LIKE ALL AETHIEST WHO ARE GOOD PEOPLE, LIKE CHRISTIANS WHO ACTUALLY ARE CHRISTIANS, LIKE THE APOSTLES, should have no problem accepting the clear and moraly correct teachings of Jesus.

The Irony of religion is that in the beginning, religion was science. After alot of discovery spurts in stone working, mettalurgy, chemical reaction, etc… mysticism was the holy act of manufacturing goods with scientific means shrouded and veiled by chants, spells, etc… to ge the rock dragon to poor fourth its molten venom, which was the dragons gift to the tribe, so as to make weapons to expand the tribe, there fore getting more rocks, (spreading the religion) The same processes repeat over and and over, just alittle more advanced each step. Religion tends to keep knowledge in the hands of the trusted few, not trying to keep any form any body, but we want what we do have to be unspoiled. Of course, being the self appointed “leaders” they don’t like giving up the fringe benefits.

Jesus took on the religious establishment back then to defeat hypocrisy (sound familiar.) He was crucified by the Romans because he was presented by the Jews to their foreign masters as a rebellion leader, a self described King who opposed Caesar and he was crucified. After that, I really don’t care. He died with the knowledge that if he had just agreed and shut up, he would have lived. But he chose death rather than disavow the teachings that without, we would still be wearing burlap sacks and sandals. It was his committment to the truth that stuck in the mind of a Roman Emperor named Constantine, who in a dream, saw three crosses, and the next day, the Roman Catholic Church was born, and 1/3 of the world became Christian, and of course, now being a force of government, the first corrupt christian buearucrats popped up.
